If you experience an earthquake that is long or strong, please do not wait for an official warning.
Festival staff, schools, tamariki, whānau and visitors should evacuate immediately and calmly.
Our tsunami evacuation point is at the end of Mitchell Road.
Evacuation Route
- Leave the school grounds through the Lucknow Street gate.
- Turn left after exiting the gate.
- Walk in an orderly manner towards the end of Mitchell Road.
- Follow the directions of Festival staff and school personnel.
- Keep tamariki with their school group, whānau or responsible adult wherever possible.
- Walk — do not drive, unless directed otherwise.
- Keep roads and access routes clear for emergency services.
Schools
School staff should account for their students and keep their groups together throughout the evacuation.
Do not return to the festival grounds until emergency authorities advise that it is safe to do so.
